Chris Garcia-Prats

Luther College Head Men’s Soccer Coach

  • Entering 8th year as head coach.

  • Garcia-Prats has led Luther to a 58-16-8 overall record in the last four seasons including 2 Iowa Conference Championships, 2 NCAA National Tournament appearances, and 2 NSCAA top 25 National Rankings.

  • 2011 Iowa Conference Coach of the Year & NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year.

  • 2002 graduate of Trinity University.

  • Prior to Luther, he served as the assistant men's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinity University. During this stretch Trinity University made six NCAA Tournament appearances and three semifinal appearances, winning the national championship in 2003, and finishing second in 2007.

Luther College Head Women's Soccer Coach


  • Seventh Year as Head Coach
  • 2005 Graduate of Luther College
  • 2013 Iowa Conference Co-Coach of the Year
  • Has led the Norse to over 60  wins since taking over the program, including a 14-win season in 2015
  • Luther has been ranked in the Top 25 in the Nation for two seasons under his guidance. 
  • During his tenure he has led the Norse to the semifinals of the Iowa Conference Tournament four times
  • Four-year letter winner while at Luther who played on two conference championship and two national tournament teams, including an Elite 8 appearance in 2001
  • Took over Norse program after serving two years as an assistant women's coach at Macalester College
  • Prior to his duties at Macalester, he was the girls head coach at Simley High School from 2005-08, where his teams were consistently ranked in the top-10 in Minnesota Class 3A and 4A
  • From 2002-10 he was asenior coach for the St. Croix Soccer Club reaching the Minnesota State Cup Finals in 2007 and 2009 and the semifinals in 2008 as well as three straight indoor league championships from 2007-09.
  • From 2004-05 he was the Decorah High School head boys coach and led the Vikings to a 15-5 record and a fourth place finish at the state tournament

  • 2014 graduate of Luther College - B.A. - Sociology
  • Third year as assistant coach
  • Made 79 appearances while helping lead Norse to two Iowa Conference titles and two appearances in the NCAA III National Tournament
  • Tallied 13 goals and 22 assists during his career
  • Two-time NCAA III All-American at midfield
  • Three-time all-Iowa Conference selection
  • Three-time all-Region selection
  • NCAA Postgraduate Scholar

  • Joins Luther coaching staff from Presentation College where she was the Assistant Director of Admissions
  • Three-year letter winner while playing for the Norse who also served as team captain
  • Member of Luther's 2009 Iowa Conference championship team
  • While at Luther coached Decorah United Soccer Club U10-U12 Girls
  • Played her high school soccer at Appleton West High School
  • Named all-conference and served as team captain for two years
